Celebrate Chinese New Year Feast at the Grand Blue Wave

The Grand Blue Wave Hotel in Shah Alam is increasingly building its name as the place to be for a 5 star hotel stay with a choice of Japanese and Chinese cuisine. Grand Blue Wave's Japanese restaurant Agehan is also Malaysia's first halal certified Japanese restaurant for your info.

Our team was invited for their 'Golden Prosperity' Chinese New Year set food review promotion for their Tung Yuen Chinese restaurant on a beautiful Thursday afternoon. It was just at the perfect time when the hunger pangs were just kicking in. The setup was a humble affair. In a good way of course. With a small group everyone were able to mingle around and get to network with each other as well. A group of bloggers and a number of people representing media companies were also present.

We were seated together with the ladies from Karangkraf. What a great and fun bunch they were. Lots of laughter along the course of our meal. Must be the good food.

The Chinese new year Set menu consist of 5 menu sets. Depending on your preference of dishes, the price are catered to what your preference were. Yee Sang set is a must I believe in every start of the New year. The Yee Sang set is priced at MYR 38 ++. As for the set menus, here are the pricing list.

Menu 1 - MYR 888.00++
Menu 2 - MYR 1280.00++
Menu 3 - MYR 1288.00++
Menu 4 - MYR 1388.00++
Menu 5 - MYR 2888.00++

We were served the Set Menu #2 which consist of Yee Sang for starters. Since we do not have the luxury of time, the dishes were served as and when we needed it. So it was not in particular order. The rest of the dishes includes Fried Rice With Pumpkin Cube and Chicken, Roasted Chicken With Chinese Herbs, Baked White Prawn With Chrysanthemum Tea Leave and Creamy Milk , Stewed Fried Fish Maw With Crab Meat Roll and Brocolli, Braised Assorted Dried Seafood Soup with Dry Scallop and Crab Meat and lastly the Chilled Longan With Sea Birds Nest (seaweed jelly) and White Fungus. Feeling hungry already? You should! Our personal favorite? It's gotta be the roasted chicken and the fish maw.

Here are some photos to give you some idea of what we 'have' to go through. It was agonizingly delicious!

Hope to see you around Achiek. You have been a great host and always ready with your genuine smile. A true product of the hospitality industry!
